Time has flown, and another great market season is upon us. The Scottsville Farmer’s Market will officially run from May 6 – October 28th this season, with the months of April and November being “unofficial markets.” Hours are 8am until 12noon for the entirely of the season.
The address is 125 Fleet Street, Scottsville VA.
Come on down and bring your recipes – we have everything you need to make a local, delicious dinner! Our market features many products, including meats, eggs, honey, canned goods, vegetables and fruits, plants, syrups, pastas, breads, hot foods, baked goods and artisan products such as soaps, candles, woodcrafts, essential oil blends, purses and much more.
We have on-site restrooms, as well as close parking for vendors.
Customer parking is first-come, first-served, and we have several handicapped parking options.
We share our town parking lot with the Tavern on the James, and we ask that you park as close to the market as possible, or use side-street-parking when able, to respect and promote a local business and their designated parking.
Our vendors sell goods from Albemarle County, and counties adjacent to it. No further. We try to keep our goods sold at market as local as possible, and provide complete transparency regarding the origin of these goods.
We do allow vendors to re-sell local produce, but only from approved, local, sustainable sources, and in a very small quantity. This allows our market to sell items such as berries, corn, melons, pumpkins, peaches, apples and many other well-sought-after goods, that our small market does not have a dedicated vendor that produces.
Keep an eye out for “re-sell” signs at the market, and feel free to inquire as to the origin and grower of the goods. Our vendors are happy to share stories and experiences.
If you have any interest in becoming a vendor, please email management at Shannon.firstname.lastname@example.org
. We are always looking for new vendors, and we have tent room on most weekends.
